ROCK ★ SUR is a company that specializes in producing shows with a high quality overall performance focusing on Latin-American cultural events as well as Rock, Metal, Reggae and Alternative music in English and Spanish in the New York Metropolitan area. Over the past two years we have become leaders in developing these types of events on the capital of the world. We support all local bands and artists, doesn't matter what genre you are. One of our main goals is to create network for upcoming and established artists through nationwide.
ROCK ★ SUR was born out of an idea to have greater shows in the rock scene in both English and Spanish in NYC.
Our goal is to put together quality shows for the artist and the followers of this music genre.
In November of 2008, with only an idea in mind and thanks to our friends in the local scene,
ROCK ★ SUR was born. We debuted with two local bands in front of a group of no more than fifty people in Nostra Lounge.
After just a few shows at this venue we set our sights on a larger venue, D'antigua lounge. Our first show at this location packed the house with an unprecedented 250 people coming out to enjoy the show. We are proud and very fortunate to be able to count on so many people who love and enjoy rock and all its sub genres as much as we do. You are the ones who make it all possible by supporting our shows and packing the house time and time again. Our success has also come about because we try to focus on one particular genre of music for the night. This ensures that the people who have come to see the show will enjoy the whole night and the environment.
During our three years leading the local scene we have also had the pleasure of working with great international artist such as: ENANITOS VERDES, NO TE VA GUSTAR, NONPALIDENCE, and LA RENGA.
In 2011 ROCK ★ SUR is looking to go above and beyond. With more fans and more shows we hope to continue bringing you the best local music shows around. We hope you will continue to support us.
ROCK ★ SUR nacio como una propuesta para realzar la escena del rock en español e ingles en NYC. Lo que pretendia era brindar un espacio y producir shows de calidad para los artistas y seguidores de este genero. En noviembre del 2008, con esta idea en mente y gracias a amigos de la escena local, surge ROCK ★ SUR debutando con dos bandas locales en Nostra Lounge.
Despues de varios shows en este local comenzamos a realizar eventos en D'Antigua pub convocando a mas de 200 seguidores en el primer show. En la actualidad, nos sentimos orgullosos y afortunados de contar con muchos amantes del rock y sus sub-generos, que apoyan esta nueva propuesta y lo manifiestan agotando practicamente la capacidad de localidades en todos los eventos que producimos. Esto tambien se debe a que los shows que realizamos estan enfocados en un genero en particular lo cual garantiza una mejor calidad de produccion en cada evento.
Durante casi 3 años liderando la escena local tambien hemos tenido el placer de trabajar con grandes artistas internacionales como ENANITOS VERDES, NO TE VA GUSTAR, NONPALIDENCE, LA RENGA, entre otros.Para este 2011 ROCK ★ SUR busca superarse y seguir sumando seguidores a este culto por la musica.
